Friday Feel Good Quick Mix July 19, 2013
This week we decided to switch it up a bit and take you back to some Old School Hip Hop. We kicked off with Public Enemy. A rap group from Long Island, New York, Public Enemy is known for their politically charged lyrics and criticism of the American media, with an active interest in the frustrations and concerns of the African American community. Their first four albums during the late 1980s and early 1990s were all certified either gold or platinum and were, according to music critic Robert Hilburn, “the most acclaimed body of work ever by a rap act.”
Artist include: Public Enemy, Kid N’ Play, RUN DMC, Rodney O & Joe Cooley, Malcolm McLaren, L.A. Dream Team, Beastie Boys, Midnight Star, and many more.
